Services

Parent-to-parent support program.

  • To have a statewide collaborative effort with multiple systems to engage, train, educate, support, parents who have children with mental health needs.
  • To sustain parent participation and partnership in the delivery of mental health services to children.
  • Support, advocacy, and education.

    • Provide support and education to parents by attending meetings at the request of a parent.
    • Assist parents in understanding their child’s mental health needs.
    • Assist parents in becoming involved in a support network.
    • Assist families in obtaining training on how to advocate for their children.
    • Assist families in accessing information on their rights and responsibilities.
    • Organize activities for family training and parent support for children’s mental health.
  • Parent participation and partnership.

    • Assist in training service providers by providing parent perspective on training topics.
    • Assist in the continuous quality improvement (CQI) process for the children’s system of care by ensuring the mental health system is responsive to the needs of families.
    • Develop strategies aimed at education for service providers to enhance their skills in understanding and responding to the needs of families and designed to assist supervisors in educating employees in the wraparound process.
    • Assist in the completion of satisfaction surveys by family members.
    • Identify gaps in the delivery of mental health services to children and families in North Dakota.
